Located on the east side of Bayard, this small girder bridge crosses Iowa Highway 25.
Built in 1934, the bridge features a standard deck girder design, set onto concrete U abutments. This type of bridge can be seen on other Milwaukee Road depression era structures, such as a bridge in Minnesota.
This bridge was constructed for double track. The girders are a series of closely spaced flangeless beams. Truck strikes have damaged some of the structure.
Overall, the bridge appears to be in fair condition. Some deterioration can be found on the bridge, particularly the superstructure.
The author has ranked the bridge as being locally significant, due to the common design.
